Blue Bird has improved upon several industry popular options and created some new features along the way. Among the improvements in the Vision chassis are the sloped hood that tilts open with less than 10 pounds of force, a 50-degree wheel cut for improved serviceability and the addition of multi-plex wiring for the chassis. The sloped hood provides for a new industry standard in driver line of sight at 12 feet 1 inch, approximately two feet closer than the nearest competitor.
The large wheel cut and easy tilt hood provide service technicians a clear and accessible work area under the hood. The color-coded, multi-plex wiring system for the chassis, a carry over from Blue Bird’s commercial product lines, cuts down the total number of wires on the chassis and offers technicians a simple manner for diagnostics. Features of the new Blue Bird Vision: - Safety View Lens - To better improve the driver’s view of the critical loading and unloading zones near the front wheels, Blue Bird added a Safety View lens just in front of the entrance door. The broad vision Fresnel lens provides a direct line of sight into the loading areas without depending solely on the mirrors. - Sloped Hood – The dramatically sloped hood provides the best line of sight in the industry, nearly 2 feet of improvement over the closest competitor. The hood is easily opened, requiring less than 10 pounds of force, making the area easily accessed for under-hood inspections and service. - Optional Air Ride Suspension – The only available front and rear suspension in the industry. - Caterpillar C7 diesel engine with the 2004 EPA compliant ACERT technology is standard - Allison 2000 Transmission with TranSynd Fluid - 100 gallon between the frame rail fuel tank - Passenger capacities up to 77 passengers
- Available with air conditioning, wheelchair
lift and securement positions and various chassis and body optional
equipment.
